Hawaiian Chicken
Use pinapple or a can of fruit salad. With it's sweet sauce this is always a winner with the kids.  

1 Kg breast of chicken or 2 kg legs or thighs
2 cups water or orange juice
1 can crushed pineapple or fruit salad
1/2 cup butter
1 cup white sugar           
2 tablespoons lemon juice            
                   
            
             
           




Brown chicken quickly in fry pan for about 3 min. each side; remove from heat.  Add other ingredients and heat at 350, covered, for about 40 minutes. Remove cover and heat on Broil or "high" until you see the sauce bubbling furiously for at least 1 minute. Remove from heat, let stand 5 minutes and serve.

  

The main idea is to cook the chicken, then create a sauce. When you heat a sauce that contains alot of sugar after some time it begins to "carmalize" or thicken. This is when you know it's ready. Not a bad idea to wash the pot immediately after cooking as dried sugar is a pain to remove once cool.
